I have always enjoyed photographing nature for multiple reasons. Aside from its abundance, and relatively easy access from any given number of the places I have lived, it can be the most difficult, and the most rewarding subject matter. There is such a manifest lack of control over the surroundings. By the time you have your tripod set up, the colour of the sunrise may have passed, by the time you get to a location where you can photograph the storm, it may have already moved on to the next town. Thus, photographing nature is a bit of preparation, and a lot of luck. Every once and a while, you get an image that makes the fact that you are standing in a hail storm, soaked and freezing, seem completely worth it.
